About Me

Hi! I’m Elizabeth Hogue, the Instruction and Music Collections Reference Librarian. That is a fairly long title to mean that I’m involved in quite a few varied jobs. I’ve been employed at ODU Libraries since March 1999 and manage the library portion of the ENGL 211 composition classes and serve as the Music Subject Specialist. You may see me sometimes over at the Diehn Composers Room.


As the Music subject specialist, I provide reference and instruction services to the Music department but I also provide these services to the Communications and Theatre Arts department. Students in the ENGL 211 courses can also utilize our consultation service with me for a one hour in-person appointment.


My background is in the performing arts and I maintain a separate professional classical vocal career. You may have seen me perform on stage for the Virginia Opera or the Virginia Symphony. If you see me at the Learning Commons Help Desk, be sure and say hello!
