You have 300 MB of storage for free in Zotero cloud-based storage. This is typically enough space to save the data you have entered about your sources into Zotero but will not be enough to save every PDF. For PDFs, Zotero will link your files, or point to where they are on your computer. If you use the annotation feature, Zotero saves that information separately rather than directly to the PDF. You have the option to pay for cloud storage through Zotero which will allow you to save and pull up the same PDF every time if that is important to you, however, barring something going terribly wrong, the way Zotero handles files means the linked PDF and cloud storage PDF experience will in practice be identical, the difference only being in where the PDF is located.
This is an option to connect Zotero to the ODU Libraries. This will allow you to see and link to versions of your sources available through the ODU Libraries.
To set this up, select Edit then from the drop down menu choose Settings. You should already be looking at the General tab but if not, select that option. If you do not see an option for Old Dominion University please email us so we can request an update from the Zotero team.
To use this feature, select the item(s) you want to look up, then in the far right menu, choose the icon of a right facing arrow with a circle around it and from the drop down select "Library Lookup".

Under Settings you are going to click on Cite to open that tab. From the Cite tab, under Style manager you are going to click "Get additional styles..." and this will open up the Zotero Style Repository. From here you can search Zotero's 10,000+ styles and add them to your style options by clicking on them.

To use this tool is to paste the references you want to add into Zotero as citations, with each line being a new citation. Then you can take a look at how the software has labeled the different parts of the citations you entered and re-label them as needed. Finally you can save this work as a BibTeX file and open the file using Zotero.
