Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service you can use to request and receive research materials that the ODU Libraries do not own. It is free for current students , faculty, and staff at ODU.
Do not pay for articles and papers from publishers as long as you are a student at ODU.
What types of materials can you get from ILL?
- Printed items, such as books and complete conference proceedings, will be shipped to us from another library and take 7-10 days to arrive. You will be notified to pick them up at Perry Library or you can request to have them shipped to you if you are an ODU distance student who does not reside in the Norfolk area. You'll have them for a few weeks and then we'll return the item for you to the original library that shipped it.
- Electronic copies of articles and papers are delivered to your ILL account within a few days.
