FALL SEMESTER 2020 (beginning 8/29/20)

HOFHEIMER ART LIBRARY and DCR & MUSIC LIBRARY

  • Hours: Beginning Monday August 31: Monday-Thursday, 8 am - 7 pm; Friday 8 am - 5 pm

PERRY LIBRARY

  • Building Hours: Sunday 9 am - midnight; Monday - Thursday, 7 am - midnight; Friday, 7 am - 10 pm; Saturday, 9 am - 10 pm 
  • Main automatic doors used for entrance, all other doors are exit only and remain locked.
  • Everyone must follow CDC guidelines, practice physical and social distancing, and wear face coverings
  • Chat Hours: Sunday, 1 pm - 8 pm; Monday - Thursday, 9 am - 8 pm; Friday, 9 am - 5 pm 

  Available services include:

  • Use of MIDAS login computers and student printing
  • Access and check out materials from the collection (self-checkout available); materials can be returned to book drops inside or outside Perry Library
  • Study space on all floors
  • Collaboration and group study rooms (max occupancy of rooms reduced to meet 6 ft. physical distancing guidelines)
  • All online services and resources

 Not available/limited services include:

  • Special Collections & University Archives remains physically closed. Assistance is available virtually through Chat or via email, libspecialcollections@odu.edu
  • The Learning Commons conference rooms have reduced capacity and limited set-up options.
  • The library instruction room on the 1st floor will remain closed. 
  • Equipment loans are not available, except with documentation for course requirements.
  • Money for student printing must be added online at https://cardcenter.odu.edu - no cash transactions at Help Desk.
  • Course reserve materials will only be available electronically through Blackboard; no print reserves will be available at Perry Library.
  • Public computers are not available.
  • Faculty/graduate student research carrels will not be assigned for the Fall 2020 semester for health and safety reasons. Assignments currently in place will be honored.
  • Book donations are not accepted at this time, and there will be no book sale this year. We hope to revisit this option in the Spring 2021 semester. View our Gift Policy.
