Changes to Hours & Operations

 Changes to Hours

  • The Libraries are CLOSED until further notice. We are available virtually.

    • NOTE: University Administration and the Libraries are prioritizing the health and safety of the University community. This has included going to extensive lengths to disinfect spaces within Perry Library. At this time, Perry Library remains closed to all non-essential University employees. We understand the inconvenience this causes those with personal belongings in the building, and are working with University Administration to identify possible solutions. Updates will follow, should changes occur.  (added 3/23)

 Changes to Operations:

  • Getting Help While the Library Is Closed Libraries staff are monitoring email, chat, and other services.  Please contact us if you need help.
  • Physical Items:  Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide physical materials until further notice. Please do not attempt to recall a book that is currently checked out, since this service is unavailable until the University reopens (updated 3/26). See also Interlibrary Loan information on the Remote Resources page.
  • Returning Materials:  All checked-out library materials will be due at the end of the semester (May 6, 2020) for undergraduates and non-ODU borrowers. Term loans for faculty/staff and graduate students remain May 20, 2020.
    • Fines for overdue books, equipment and DVDs will be waived while we are closed.
    • Book Drop: If you wish to return books (not equipment), you may place them in the book drop on the east side of the building facing Gornto. However, books will not be checked in and removed from your account until the University reopens. (updated 3/26)
  • Gifts: The Libraries are asking donors to refrain from delivering gifts during this time.
