Emergency Technology Loan Program

The Emergency Technology Loan Program is a collaborative effort between the ODU Libraries and Information Technology Services. The purpose of the program is to provide laptops to students who need them as a result of an emergency situation. Examples of situations that qualify for this program include:

  • Unexpected living situations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic
  • In-person classes being moved online mid-semester

NOTE: Due to limited supply we are currently only filling laptop requests that come directly from the COVID Cares Team. If you have a non-COVID emergency need and submit a request we will add you to our waiting list and notify you when laptops become available.

Loan Policies and Expectations

  • Equipment can be picked up at the Perry Library Help Desk or mailed via UPS.
  • On campus students are required to pick up at the Help Desk unless they are in COVID isolation. In that case we will work with the COVID Cares Team to deliver to you.
  • All loans must be returned to Perry Library by the date specified in the contract.
  • Fees will apply to damaged or equipment that is not returned, as specified in the contract.
  • Loan requests take up to seven business days to process.
