Special collections and archives are for everyone! Our diverse and inclusive collections cover a wide range of topics that enrich scholarly opportunities, and we welcome students, faculty, staff, community members, and researchers from all over the world to use our collections and services.
The collection, dating from the 1940s to the 1970s, contains correspondence, photographs, scrapbooks, and other material related to the operation of the Ocean View Amusement Park in Norfolk, Virginia and Seaside Amusement Park in Virginia Beach.
The collection also contains scrapbooks documenting Seaview Beach, which operated as an African American beach resort during Segregation in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
