ODU Libraries Virtual Book Displays

A collection of reading lists produced by the Libraries on various topics.

Civility Month

ODU Libraries offer a virtual book display of materials identified by the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED) and the Center for Faculty Development (CFD) to the Monarch community as we recognize Civility Month this August. Each selection reflects a theme of understanding the differences between cultures, families, and individuals, allowing for one’s own self-reflection.

"We recognize that everyone has the right to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. We embrace academic freedom, accountability, honesty, and transparency in the responsible pursuit of higher education, knowledge, and social justice. We nurture a climate of care, concern, and civility where respect for self, others, the institution, the environment, and the global community is a top priority. We are called to the highest ethical standards in academic and professional pursuits and uphold a commitment to integrity in our policies, codes of conduct, and everyday practices." - Old Dominion University 2023-2028 Strategic Plan, Page 13
