Art Reception Rules
Please be sure to abide by the following rules that apply to all events:
- The sponsoring group must be an ODU campus department/office/faculty member, or an ODU student organization registered with the Office of Leadership and Student Involvement.
- A reservation is required for exhibits and requests are submitted through the online form.
- Exhibit space requests will be confirmed or denied by the Department of Library Engagement after determining space availability.
- Scheduled events and set up for scheduled events have precedence over all other usage of exhibit space.
- If the event will have food and/or drinks, those items must be provided by the university's Monarch Catering. The requestor is responsible for making the arrangements, including payment.
- All food and drink must be disposed of properly by the end of the event and the space returned to its original condition.
- Paint and other materials that could damage or stain the carpeting, furniture, equipment, etc. are not permitted in the spaces.
- Music should be kept at a volume that does not disturb patrons outside the exhibit area or patrons in an adjacent room.
The following rules may be waived by the University Libraries Administration office (757-683-4141), if permission is received prior to the event:
- Alcohol is not permitted within Perry Library.
- No materials of any kind may be sold within Perry Library.
Be prepared to provide the name of the Library Administration employee who granted you permission.
