Options for adding funding are:
1. Search & Link with the DimensionsWizard
Dimensions Wizard includes grants from funding organizations worldwide such as the NIH and NSF in the United States, the UK Research Councils and Wellcome Trust in the UK, the Austrian Research Council, and over fifty others. Note: ODU Libraries do not have a subscription to Dimensions, but the Wizard is a free service.
2. Enter Manually
If DimensionsWizard does not link all of your grants, you may need to do so manually. Fields include:
- Funding type (required): The type of funding, either award, contract, grant, or salary award, based on an earlier CASRAI standard.
- Award: Peer-reviewed funding providing direct research costs through competitions.
- Contract: Works commissioned by external public agencies or industry building on research expertise and aimed at deliverables. Include research contracts awarded by federal agencies for both direct and indirect costs and honoraria. Discussion
- Grant: Peer-reviewed funding providing direct research costs through competitions.
- Salary award: A competitive, peer-reviewed award that is paid as salary to the awardee/faculty member.
- Funding subtype: A further categorization defined by the organization adding the funding.
- Title of funded project (required): The title of the funded project.
- Translated title: Include a translation of the title if it was included in the original publication, if the work has been translated, or if you wish to provide a translation of the title for ease of import into other systems.
- Language of this title: The language of the translated title.
- Description: A description or short abstract of the funded project.
- Total funded amount:
- Currency: The currency used in the entered amount.
- Amount: The amount of money awarded for the funded project. If the project received multiple funding awards, each should be entered as separate funding items.
- Start date: The start date of the funded project. Enter year and month, or month, day and year.
- End date: The end date of the funded project. You can enter month and year or just year
- Funding agency (required): Information about the agency which provided the funding.
- Name (required): The name of the organization that awarded the funding. As you start typing, a list of suggestions will be displayed. Select the funding agency from the list, and it will automatically populate other fields about the agency
- City (required): The city where the funding agency is based. This is auto-populated when you choose the agency's name from the picklist.
- Region: The state, province, or other region where the funding agency is based
- Country (required): The country where the funding agency is based. This is auto-populated when you choose the agency's name from the picklist.
- Grant/Contract/Award Number: An identifier assigned by the funding agency to identify this funding award.
- Identifier relationship: Describes the relationship between the identifier and the work.
- Self: The identifier applies to the funding award itself.
- Part of: The identifier applies to the larger award of which the project is part.
- Grant/Contract/Award URL: A link to information about the funding award on the funding organization's webpage.
- Alternate URL: Additional links to the funding award or a link to the project supported by the funding.
