Journals

Keeping up with current research in your field requires you to be familiar with the most important journals in that area. There are many ways to do this!

  • Look for journals that are cited again and again in the research that you find with keyword searching
  • Look for journals published by professional organizations in your field
  • Use databases like Cabell's Directory or GoogleScholar Metrics to find the top ranking journals in your field
  • Ask your professors and colleagues where they publish and what they are reading!

Once you know what you are looking for, you can find out if the ODU Libraries provides access to a journal in 2 easy steps!

1. Click on the Journal Finder link on the library homepage

2. To search by title, click on the Journals A-Z link 

3. Type the title of the Journal
