Workshops and Programming

This form is intended for non-library instruction sessions such as topic-based workshops, and for programming and events for students, faculty, and the community that are organized by the Libraries. This form is not intended to be used for events that we participate in that are organized by other partners, such as orientation tables.

Research Support Reporting FY25

FY2025 Research Support reporting is reported through separate forms for each department: Education & Assessment, Learning Commons & Branch Libraries, Liaison Services, Special Collections & University Archives, and Scholarly Communications. Supervisors are responsible for providing instructions to their department members. Research support includes help desk interactions, email assistance, phone calls, and online or in-person research consultations or small group appointments scheduled via direct communication OR the LibCal appointment schedule.

The following items are required for reporting to our external agencies:

  • Date/Time of Interaction
  • Type of interaction
    • Directional (walk-ups to help desk, very brief “where is the...” “may I borrow a pencil...” types of questions, these will mostly be provided by the Learning  Commons and BLs) 

    • Transactional (walk-ups, phone, brief email- less than 5 minutes spent, library-related or basic research/finding resources help provided. These will most be provided by the Learning Commons and BLs) 

    • Consultation (in-person or synchronous online, lengthy email- more than 15 minutes spent, in-depth phone call. These will mostly be provided by E&A, Liaisons, SCUA, and Schol Comm) 

  • Format/Location: In-person, phone, online synchronous (Zoom, Teams), online asynchronous (email), walk-in, phone
  • Number of participants (excluding self) 
  • Length of time spent (over 15 minutes differentiates between research consultation and transaction)

Other information may be collected for department purposes, as determined by the supervisor.
