Federal publications are cataloged and arranged according to Superintendent of Documents (SuDoc) classification, a system that is based on the government agency that is responsible for publishing each document.
LOCATION: The physical Government Publications Collection is located on the 2nd floor of Perry Library. The collection contains federal documents in a variety of formats including print (hard copy), microfiche, and maps. Most federal publications received since 1990 can be identified by searching in Monarch OneSearch.
The majority of government publications are available online and can also be accessed through Monarch OneSearch.
Superintendent of Documents (SuDocs) classification numbers are assigned to documents based on the U.S. Government agency that is responsible for the publication.
