The Old Dominion University Libraries are a congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government documents. Public access to the physical government documents collection is guaranteed by public law (Title 44 United States Code). The physical materials are located on the 2nd floor of Perry Library.
In 2019, a Centers of Excellence collection was established at ODU Libraries through a Collaborative Federal Depository Program with the Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (ASERL). ODU's Centers of Excellence collect and maintain documents of the U.S. Department of the Navy and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
