What Do We Do?
Old Dominion University Libraries’ Music Special staff help engage students, faculty, staff, and the general public with our collections in a number of ways:
Instruction: We specialize in archival and primary source literacy instruction, involving active-learning exercises and the development of practical research skills.
Research Help: Music Special Collections staff provide one-to-one and group consultations on research projects at any stage of the research process.
Community Engagement: In addition to preserving Southeastern Virginia’s musical history, we collaborate with community organizations and individuals on events, exhibitions, digitization initiatives, publications, digital humanities projects, etc.
