Library Services

Printing/Photocopying:  Printing is available to students and faculty at stations in the Learning Commons. Options include using a unit budget code or money added to your personal MonarchPlus. Ask for the printing handout at the Help Desk if you need help.

  • A photocopier is located in the Learning Commons near the multimedia stations:  $.10/page.

Scanning:

  • Let us scan it.  Use the library's Document Delivery Service (Interlibrary Loan). For an article or book chapter available at ODU Libraries (or elsewhere), faculty and graduate students can request the item through their ILLIAD account and receive it via PDF, usually within 2-3 work days. Copyright restrictions may apply. Contact ILL (757-683-4170) for more information.
  • Or... you can scan it yourself.  Use any one of the printer/scanners in the Learning Commons, 1st or 2nd floor. Note: no OCR option.

Research Impact

Dissertations/Theses

The Libraries will assist graduate assistants with identifying and using research resources for your thesis or dissertation. Contact a liaison librarian for assistance.

Note: As of 2016, ODU instituted an Electronic Thesis and Dissertation program -- electronic format is now required for all students. All dissertations and theses will be submitted and available electronically through ProQuest's Dissertations & Theses @ ODU, and the University's official copy will be available through the university's institutional repository: ODU Digital Commons. No new print copies are available in the University Libraries. For more information, including the official guide, go to the ODU Graduate School Resources page.

Funding Sources

The following are some grant funding sources to consult. It's always best to contact the ODU Office of Research for grant information and assistance.
