Find Books

Books are a great place to search for general knowledge, background information, practical applications of research, and more. Use the main search box on the Libraries' homepage at odu.edu/library to search for books on your research topic.

Find Juvenile Books

The ODU Libraries purchase all of the ALA award-winning and honor books, including Caldecott, Newberry, and more. We also have a pretty great graphic novels collection! To search for Juvenile Books, type your search terms into the search box, and when the results come up, limit location to Juvenile, 3rd Floor.

Are you a distance student? You can request that any book in our library be mailed directly to you through our Interlibrary Loan program.

Services for Distance and On-Campus Students

If you are struggling, or just need a little extra help with your research, worry no longer! You can set up an online or in-person appointment with your librarian and she will help you as much as she can with all of your research questions. Simply email Karen Centeno, kcenteno@odu.edu to set up a time to meet!

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a great service for graduate students. Through ILL you can:

  • Borrow physical materials (aka books, dissertations, and other stuff) that the ODU Libraries does not own from another library
  • Get articles that the ODU Libraries do not have access to in PDF format
  • Distance student? You can have books that the ODU libraries mailed directly to your doorstep. That's right!
  • ALL free of charge!!!
