The F. Ludwig Diehn Composers Room (DCR) houses the Music Library and Music Special Collections and is located in the Diehn Center for the Performing Arts. It is a specialized library space dedicated to supporting music composition studies. It offers a unique collection of scores, recordings, and resources for composers, providing a creative environment for musical exploration and research. The DCR has two spaces which may be reserved by ODU-affiliated users:
The rooms are available for use during regular library hours and when staff is present.
Either room may be reserved by submitting the DCR Room Reservation Request at https://forms.odu.edu/view.php?id=270065.
The use of DCR Rooms shall be consistent with the educational mission of the University and with the general nature of the facility. The academic work of the University shall hold a primary place in the use of the room and all uses must be arranged so as not to hinder or adversely affect the academic activity. University facilities shall not be used to promote a political, economic, social or religious cause unless a university group sponsors the cause. No commercial activities shall be permitted without prior permission from the Dean of Libraries or appropriate designee.
Exceptions to this policy may be authorized by the Dean of Libraries, the Head of the Learning Commons & Branch Libraries, or their appropriate designee.
The Policy for Use of Libraries Spaces applies to the Reading Room and Seminar Room. Users who do not comply with Libraries policy may be asked to leave and/or barred from future use of the rooms.
